Year One

Year One have been looking at the creation story and thinking about ways we can thank God by trying to look after the Earth.

The children made their own playdough animals — and then squashed them. They thought about why a creator wants their creation to be looked after?

"Because it took a long time to create" Arthur

"If you make something it is special to you" Freya

We made links with Christian ideas about the world as God’s creation.  We considered how God would feel to look at a world covered in litter and vandalised, with many trees cut down? We considered what might make God happy about the world, and what might make God sad?

"Putting rubbish in the bin and looking after the earth would make God happy" Teddy B

"God would not be happy with oil spills as they harm the wildlife" James
