Derby Open Centre

Year One and Four visited the Derby Open Centre where they went to  a Hindu Temple and Sikh Gurdwara as part of their RE topics.

During the visit to the Temple some of the children had the opportunity to try on traditional Indian clothing and learn about some of the Hindu Deities. "The Deities were all really colourful and beautiful" Eva Year One

They then walked to the Sikh Gurdwara where they learnt about how Sikhs worship and the 5K's. They were very lucky and were invited to enjoy some 'langar'. Within the Sikh religion, anyone can enjoy langar, no matter what their faith. It is offered by every single Gurdwara in the world.
